Duke Global Health Institute is committed to solving complex global health challenges that are related to economic, social, environmental, political and health care inequalities. Establishing an interconnected framework of interdisciplinary teams working to address health problems, Duke Global Health Institute (DGHI) accesses resources and knowledge throughout Duke University. Additionally, DGHI and  Blue Chip Foundation provide research opportunities for undergraduate students interested in working to implement solutions to global health issues. The foundation has developed partnerships with the Governments of Ghana and Kenya to implement Blue Chip designed pilot projects that provide Columbia University and Duke University students and faculty access to these projects.

Student exposure to infrastructure research and sustainable development initiatives are essential for the training of future global health leaders. Blue Chip Foundation is committed to supporting other large-scale health initiatives such as the Two Million Community Health Workers Campaign  (2mCHW), a joint initiative between the Millennium Promise Association and Columbia University. The Community Health Workers Campaign is a sustainable health initiative responsible for integrating a broad array of sustainable development goals. The 2 Million Community Health Workers initiative is a health services program that provides health care services and training to areas in the developing world with little or no access to healthcare professionals. It's a sustainable health model providing a "demographic dividend" that accelerates economic growth, improves health care access, and health outcomes.
