Violence against children pervasive in homes, schools and communities
The United Nations Children’s Fund( UNICEF ) reported that children are facing extreme exposure to psychological aggression, physical punishment, sexual violence, and acts of homicide in their communities. Corporal punishment is still allowed in school environments exposing half the population to violence against children. UNICEF urges government intervention and national action plans to intervene on behalf of children exposed to violence. The report also calls for improved data reporting and evaluation.
