Task of eradicating poverty must be met ‘with a sense of urgency,’
Appealing to key stakeholders, Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed outlined best practices and recommendations for eradicating poverty at the 2017 Integration Segment of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The Deputy Secretary-General addressed the form that an effective integrated policy framework requires in order to raise awareness of the interconnected17 sustainable development goals. Calling for extensive partnerships across all domains of development and throughout all levels of the economy, the Deputy Secretary-General mentioned theSDGIndicator Framework as a benchmarking tool in assessing the efficacy of national approaches. Looking ahead, the meeting will release recommendations on future policy on a national, regional and international scale.
