UN study makes ‘strong’ case for Africa’s investment in green energy
Energy investments in renewable energy infrastructure are essential for Africa’s economic advancement according to a new UN Atlas of Africa Green Energy Resources study based on data from 54 countries. Increasing energy production levels and extending electrification to rural areas are necessary for broad socioeconomic development across the African continent. The Atlas also provides information on reaching sustainable energy developmenttargets from analysis of ongoing satellite imagery data.
