World AIDS Day: Consensus with right to health, mean defeated epidemic
World AIDS Day and the AIDS epidemic is an important reminder of the need to guarantee equal access to affordable health care services, hospital facilities and treatment options for people in all parts of the world. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres delivered a message reaffirming the 2030 target for ending the AIDS epidemic. Obstacles and setbacks are reversing past successes in parts of the world threatening to leave even greater numbers of people behind. Access to health services and education represents the mutually reinforcing strategy required for achieving effective sustainable development. Securing every individual’s right to health is the only way forward in the fight against the AIDS epidemic.
