World’s poverty is bearing the brunt of global crises, stresses UN expert
Seeking broader appeal for people living in the world’s least developed countries and isolated island nations suffering the brunt of global energy, economic, climate change, and global crises beyond their control, UN Special Rapporteur on the right to development , Saad Alfaragi appealed to the Human Rights Councilin his maiden report. Calling attention to unsatisfactory global commitment of already established global initiatives including the Paris Agreement, Addis Ababa Action Agenda and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, Alfaragi emphasized the priority of guaranteeing human rights and “the right to development a reality for everyone.
